Require payment upfront for services requested at the time of reservation via credit card that is non-refundable. Allow appointments to be rescheduled with a nominal fee (say $5). This will prevent the majority of appointment “squatters”. It will also dramatically speed up processing time. Allow a few appointments per day that are cash only to avoid requiring everyone to pay with credit cards such as walk up services after 2pm. Require service to be rendered to the person’s details listed at appointment request. E.G.:If the appointment is requested for John Doe, do not let Allen Smith to assume the appointment. Finally, use a person verification system (such as captcha) to eliminate automated bookings.
